SUSSEX BOROUGH — State Police have released the name of the individual arrested on an assault charge in the borough over the weekend.
According to Sgt. Jeff Flynn, police responded to a criminal complaint at a residence on Loomis Avenue in Sussex Borough Sunday morning. After a brief search, officers located the suspect, Dominic Garrera, 27, and arrested him without incident.
While Flynn did not go into further detail about the situation, he noted that Garrera was charged with aggravated assault and criminal restraint. Information on the victim is not being released by police.
A Sussex Borough resident posted on Facebook Sunday morning that a helicopter was hovering in the area, while other users posted a news alert that claimed police were searching for a male in response to an aggravated assault with a knife. However, State Police said Monday that reports of a stabbing incident were untrue.
