TOWN OF WALLKILL - Three Orange County men were charged with possessing a loaded handgun and a switchblade knife in a town apartment complex.
Rahmon L. Ward, 22, of the City of Newburgh, Franky Azor, 20, of Middletown, and George F. Rodriguez, 19, of Monroe, were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon at around 1:13 a.m. Friday, according to the Town of Wallkill Police Department.
Two town police officers were patrolling the Greencrest Drive area, where the Imperial Garden Apartment Homes are located, when they spotted a suspicious vehicle. The officers searched the vehicle and found the knife and a loaded .380 caliber handgun, according to town police.
The three men were arraigned in the City of Middletown Court before Judge Stephen Brockett on Friday, and they appeared in the Wallkill Town Court for the first time Wednesday. The case was adjourned to April 15 for Ward and Azor, and March 25 for Rodriguez, according to the court.
Ward is being held in the Orange County jail on $20,000 cash bail or $60,000 bond. Azor posted a $10,000 bond and Rodriguez posted a $1,000 cash bail, according to the Orange County jail.
