Rockland's COVID-19-related deaths and infections continue to edge up, according to state figures released Thursday.

Fatalities rose from to 436 from 422 announced the previous day, an increase of 3.3%. That is down from the 5% rise reported a day earlier.

The state also reported on Thursday that Rockland had 129 new COVID-19 cases, for a total of 9,828 cases since the outbreak began.

The 1.3% day-to-day increase in new cases is identical to the increase reported Wednesday.

The county reported 229 confirmed COVID-19 cases in local hospitals, with another 167 cases under investigation.

As of Wednesday, 23,734 tests had been administered in Rockland, with 41.4% coming back positive.
