ELLENVILLE - A New Jersey woman is accused of stabbing a man in a village apartment Tuesday evening.
A domestic dispute escalated when Danah Applewhite, 52, allegedly stabbed a male victim once in the upper chest in an apartment at 15 Backman Ave. at around 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Village of Ellenville Police Department.
The man was treated at the scene by Ellenville paramedics and airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, where he is being treated for his injuries, police said. The man’s condition was not immediately available.
Applewhite was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, police said.
She was virtually arraigned Wednesday and held in the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond, police said. She is scheduled to appear in court again June 23.
