The Goshen Chamber of Commerce Farmers’ Market has been a vital, enjoyable feature of life in Goshen since 1992. It’s a vibrant part of our economy because it showcases the farmers, growers, bakers and artisans who, with their products, help make Goshen’s quality of life so special.

Executive director Barbara Martinez’s 2019 innovations significantly raised awareness about our Farmers’ Market. These techniques -- from social-media promotion to media appearances to forging new, fruitful relationships with community organizations - proved to be successful for our vendors, customers and community. The Goshen Chamber takes deep pride in how we help our vendors, who also are chamber members, thrive.

A situation that has generated significant misinformation portrays our chamber, executive director and Farmers’ Market in an unfavorable light. Because we greatly respect our past employee’s privacy, as well as the human-resources policies we adhere to ensure fairness, we unfortunately cannot share details.

It is important for the Goshen community to know that the Chamber’s board of directors invested significant time and effort to carefully and comprehensively look into, and fully understand, this situation from every perspective. We believe the appropriate actions were taken and we fully support our executive director.

We’re excited about the 2020 Farmers’ Market. We’re expecting more than 40 vendors, a record. Join us at 10 a.m. May 22 for our ribbon-cutting celebration in the Village Square (Church Park), at the intersection of Main and South Church streets.
