I was in Albany this week with New York Citizen Action to lobby for money due to many of our local schools. There is something called Foundation Aid money which the state has not released to many school districts. Middletown is due $49 million, Newburgh $43 million, and Kingston $15 million.
A child's education should not depend on their Zip Code. We visited the offices of one representative and three senators. There was just one senator who was able to find the time to be there himself to meet with us and that was Sen. James Skoufis. He made time in his schedule to meet with us and listen what we wanted to share and request. This told me something about the kind of senator James Skoufis is. He listens and responds. He deserves our continued support.
