Washingtonville High School graduate Martin Hehir missed making the U.S. Olympic Marathon squad by about a minute in the race held in Atlanta Saturday afternoon.

Hehir, a Syracuse grad, placed sixth in the men's race in 2 hours, 11 minutes, 29 seconds. He finished 2 minutes, 9 seconds behind winner Galen Rupp, who makes his fourth Olympic team.

Tri-Valley graduate Kate Landau placed 14th in the women's race in 2:34:07. She finished 6 minutes, 44 seconds behind winner Aliphine Tualiamuk.

Kingston 2004 graduate Alexandra (Brown) Bernardi placed 88th in 2:43.22.

Pine Bush 2001 graduate Michelle (Wale) Langan, who lives in Cary, N.C., finished 125th in 2:45.12.

Monroe-Woodbury and 2017 Marist graduate Elizabeth Wasserman placed 278th in 2:52.36.
